About The Cat Wellness

About The Cat Wellness

The Cat Wellness exists to give cat owners the same depth of health information the vets read, translated into plain language, with the sources linked so you can check our work.

Why We Built This Site

Too much of what’s written about cat health online is vague, outdated or recycled from somewhere else. We built The Cat Wellness to be different: a small editorial team with real hands-on cat experience, every health claim sourced and content updated when the underlying research moves.

What We Cover

We focus on the four issues indoor cats actually face: hydration and kidney health, digestion and litter box problems, coat and skin health (hairballs, shedding) and behavior and enrichment. These hit most indoor cats at some point. Most are preventable, and many are treatable, with the right information.

Our Editorial Standards

  • All health and behavior claims link to a primary source: Cornell, AAFP, AVMA, peer-reviewed journals, or other authoritative veterinary publications
  • Sources are linked directly in every article
  • Articles flag uncertainty when uncertainty exists. We say “talk to your vet” when that’s the right answer
  • Content is updated when clinical guidance changes
  • We disclose all affiliate relationships clearly. See our Affiliate Disclosure

A Note on Affiliate Products

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy through them, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We only recommend products our team has researched (and tested, where we say we tested). Affiliate relationships never influence what we recommend or how we write about it.

The Cat Wellness is not a substitute for professional veterinary advice. If your cat is unwell, please contact a licensed veterinarian.
