What kind of litter do cats prefer?
Most cats prefer an unscented, fine-grained clumping litter that feels soft under their paws, close to the sandy texture they’d choose in nature. Heavy perfumes and coarse pellets are common reasons a cat snubs an otherwise fine box. Depth matters too, a couple of inches she can dig in. If you’re switching litters, do it gradually and consider offering two boxes with different litters to let her vote. The litter she’ll actually use beats the one that smells best to you every time.
