Wet or dry food: which is better for my cat?

Both can be complete and balanced, so neither is simply better, but they have different strengths. Wet food is about three-quarters water, which helps hydration and suits indoor cats who don’t drink much, and it tends to be lower in carbohydrates. Dry food is convenient, more economical and easy to leave out or use in puzzle feeders, though it does nothing for water intake. Many cats do well on a mix: wet for the moisture, a little dry for convenience. Look for an AAFCO complete-and-balanced statement on whatever you choose.
