Can cats eat tuna?

A little canned tuna as an occasional treat is fine for most cats, but it shouldn’t be a regular meal. Tuna made for people isn’t complete and balanced for cats, and a tuna-heavy diet can lead to nutrient imbalances and carries more mercury than is ideal. Some cats also get hooked on it and start snubbing their proper food. If you want to use it, keep it to a small now-and-then topper, choose tuna packed in water without added salt and make sure her real diet is a complete cat food.
