Why does my cat bring toys to my bed at night?

This is generally read as a version of the same instinct that drives a mother cat to bring prey back to a den, redirected toward you as part of her social group. Some cats do it after a successful solo hunt of a toy mouse as a kind of presentation behavior; others simply prefer sleeping near a favorite toy and carry it wherever the sleeping spot happens to be that night. It’s considered a mild, affectionate quirk rather than something to discourage, though if the toy squeaks or crinkles and disrupts your sleep, swapping in a quiet plush version for nighttime is a reasonable fix.
