Do some cat breeds shed less than others?
Yes, but no breed is truly non-shedding. Hairless breeds (Sphynx) shed almost nothing visible because there’s nothing to shed, but they still need regular baths to manage skin oils. Curly-coated breeds (Cornish Rex, Devon Rex, Selkirk Rex) shed less than typical short-haired breeds because the hair sheds out into the curls and gets trapped rather than dropping. Siamese, Burmese and Tonkinese have very short, dense coats that produce less visible shedding. Long-haired breeds (Maine Coon, Ragdoll, Persian) shed a lot. Individual variation matters more than breed.
