Why does my cat dip her paw in the water bowl before drinking?

Some cats dislike how a deep or narrow bowl presses on their whiskers and use a paw to avoid dunking their face. Others just like to play with moving water. If it bothers you, try a wide shallow bowl filled near the brim so the surface is easy to see and reach. It’s normal behavior, not a health concern on its own.
