Can cats eat eggs?

Cooked eggs, plain and in small amounts, are fine as an occasional addition and are a genuinely good source of protein. Raw eggs are the ones to avoid: they carry a real salmonella and E. coli risk, and an enzyme in raw egg white can interfere with the absorption of a B vitamin over time if fed regularly. Scramble or hard-boil it with nothing added, no butter, salt or seasoning, and treat it as an occasional extra rather than a food to build a habit around, since it isn’t a complete diet on its own.
