Is it OK that my cat eats but won’t drink water?
Usually fine, especially if she’s eating wet food. Canned cat food is at least 75 percent water, so a cat on a mostly-wet diet may not need much from the bowl. The math: an average 10-pound cat needs about one cup of water a day total, and a few wet meals can cover most of that. If she’s eating kibble (6 to 10 percent water) and avoiding the bowl, that’s worth fixing. Move the bowl away from food and litter, refresh it daily, add a second station. If she’s eating normally and looks well, it’s probably the diet doing the work.
When to call a vet: if she stops drinking AND her appetite drops, or she seems lethargic or weak, that’s a same-day vet call.
