Why does my cat eat less in hot weather?
Cats generally eat less when it is hot, partly because they are less active, partly because metabolic heat from digesting food is a load they would rather not add. Mild seasonal swings in appetite are normal and rarely a worry. What does matter in hot weather is hydration. A cat eating less should be drinking more, or at least eating more wet food. Watch for weight loss, lethargy or any drop in water intake. If you see those, it is no longer about the weather.
