Can cats drink distilled water?

An occasional bowl won’t hurt, but distilled water isn’t the best everyday choice. It has had its minerals stripped out, and clean tap or filtered water is fine for most cats and a bit more natural to their needs. The thing that actually matters for hydration is that the water is fresh and that she’ll drink it, not whether it’s distilled. If your tap water is safe for you, it’s generally safe for her. If you’re worried about water quality, a basic filter is a simpler answer than distilled.
