My cat won’t eat but is still drinking water. Is that okay?
It is somewhat reassuring but not enough to relax about. Drinking without eating means your cat is conscious and able to swallow, which is better than the alternative, but the appetite loss itself is still a signal. If she has eaten little or nothing for 24 hours, call your vet rather than waiting another day to see what happens. The fatty-liver risk from prolonged non-eating does not change based on water intake. Overweight cats are at the highest risk and can decline the fastest.
